Andrew Beattie is a Japan-based freelance writer. After working for several years as a staff writer and editor at investopedia, Andrew moved to Japan to teach English to elementary school students - he has no idea what made him think a background in financial writing was applicable. Fortunately, it worked out.

Although he still lives and teaches in Japan, he has remained active as a finance freelancer and occasionally writes long passages celebrating the beauty of index funds. In his role at Suite 101, however, Andrew hopes to focus on Japan, both as a travel destination and a place to live. There will, however, be the odd financial article and perhaps even an ode to index funds for good measure.
